Ukastyle

Finally, received this beautiful necklace of fabric beads & recycled glass, made by Erika, owner of Üka a small Californian company, that makes unique eco-conscious and vegan bags, accesories and apparel.

I've met Erika online, on a photo/art/illustration forum, around the year 2002. Today, Erika graduated & became an artist/ illustrator. Find out more about her projects, and shows at erikathorpe & about her freelance design at 5doorsdown.

Love the guitar at the begining of this song that sets the whole rebelious mood for the song. A very free spirited song to me :o)

Between Manly & Raby Bay

East Coast Marina

Who's for a game of Cheks?

What book are you reading ?

Raby Bay is a developed canal network 40 minutes from Brisbane city, next to the historic town of Cleveland. Cleveland was originally known as a fashionable seaside resort, but now an address and a yacht in Raby Bay carries more prestige. Many charter boats depart from the Raby Bay Marina for day trips and fishing expeditions into Moreton Bay, and the calm water at the Raby Bay beaches is perfect for swimming and kayaking.

Maryborough - Qld

Located three hours from Brisbane Maryborough was settled in 1847 and is one of Queensland's oldest provincial cities.

Saturday morning, after a good night sleep at the hotel & before joining my sweetheart at The Brolga Theatre & Convention Center.

I was graced with the beautiful and tranquil, VERY old world Queens Park. It contains the biggest Banyan Tree i have ever seen, and is bounded on one side by a slope down to the Mary River.

Once the lifeblood of the town, the Mary River is still a haven for pleasure craft, a source of excellent freshwater fishing and a beautiful back drop for a lovely city.

Opening Night - The Brolga Theatre

Here we are, for the opening night of Expressions Dance Company, performance at The Brolga Theatre, Maryborough.

It went extremely well and we had such a great response from the audience!

Nick Tomlin, Lighting Designer for The Dance Makers, Expressions Dance Company.

Nick was invited to create the Lighting Design for Expressions Dance Company contemporary piece The Dance Makers, which recently performed a successful season at the Judith Wright Center, as per my previous article.

The Dance Company is now touring Queensland and Nick was asked to recompose his design for re-interpretation throughout regional theatres, condensing and simplifying whilst maintaining the artistic integrity of the original design.

The images & video that follow were shot at The Brolga Theatre, Maryborough.

Sunday

It was a quiet, Sunday rainy day at the Marina.

So, we decided to stay at the boat – spending time listening to music and reading.

Were even treated to a most amazing rainbow.

We love having the sea right out the front door!

Bangarra dance – Fire a Retrospective

Fire: A Retrospective Bangarra, 20 yrs of dance. Nick and i saw it saturday night at QPAC - SO uplifting and just amazing!!!

Bangarra Dance Theatre is inherently a blend of old and new through its unique movement language that fuses Australia's indigenous heritage with contemporary dance.

The show was amazing and showed some very diverse performances with an amazing original score and a showcase of what dancers at Bangarra have been doing for the past 20 years.
