Monday holiday spent in the company of my little sister, brotherinlaw & nephews

At the newest exhibition at the Queensland Museum with my little sister Ana, her husband Sid and my oh so dashing nephews Hugo & Erik.

Brisbane is the only Australian city to host the touring exhibition from the British Museum, "Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb".The exhibition will examine how life, death and the afterlife influenced the evolution of ancient Egyptian civilisation.

For many (myself included), the Bookfest 2012 is the most anticipated event of the year. For one week, an enormous hall at the Brisbane Convention Centre will be filled with trestle tables loaded with board games, magazines, CDs, DVDs and of course books of every genre and topic you can think of.

Items are priced from as low as 20 cents up to $8-10 for the better quality books or more for first editions and out of print books. All proceeds raised from book sales help fund Lifelines many counselling services.
