Geoff Wilson - Team Leader, Buggy Pilot



African born Aussie - Veterinarian/Adventurer, who has just completed "Calypso's Odyssey" a documentary capturing the adventures of himself and family aboard Calypso JJ, a 54ft sailing yacht.







Garth Freeman - Navigation/Router. Buggy pilot.


Aussie born and bred, Garth is a professional kite instructor who flew is 1st kite at the age of 12. Garth will navigate through the desert and attempt to find the best winds possible for the team.







Lance (Marty) Martin - support crew member/ owner of Gnarly Sandboards



38 year old raised on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland Australia
has always had a passion for adventure with in the elements of mother nature, no matter if it is in the ocean, on mountains or in the desert. His inner compass has always led him from one adventure to another. The opportunity to be part of an expedition with the Mad Way Down crew is a dream come true, as crossing and sand boarding in the Sahara has been on his wish list for over a decade. Being able to do that with such a talented team of adventurers is just awesome.

Ex-Professional Adventure Racing athlete was at the top of his game for 16 years. He no longer competes, but is racing to seek "green" and sustainable adventure options such at this crossing of the sahara desert.

Craig Hansen - Design/Equipment. Co-Owner Peter Lynn Kites.
Passionate for kite traction and wind assisted travel.

Jason Markland - Producer/cameraman
Has been travelling the world over the last 25 years filming and directing TV programmes for th likes of National Geographic and Discovery Channel.

Guy Lancaster - Logistics/ Security/ Saharan guide

Will manage support team, security and logistics for Mad Way South.
