After spending a couple of hours researching and finalizing an assessment due on Monday, a deserved break, gives me the opportunity to explore, the new exhibitions and events held at the State Library.
The Odditoreum is a travelling exhibit, a collection of all sorts. Children's author and illustrator Shaun Tan has created kooky and quirky narrative to accompany the artifacts in this weird and whimsical exhibition. The whole concept and implementation of this exhibition/activity/programme/thing is fascinating and I applaud all involved.
Tea & Me, captures tea-related memories and stories from across Queensland. As a Tea person myself I was beautifully surprised with the array of donated cups.
The event is held at the Queensland Terrace which is perhaps one of State Library's most unexpected spaces. It is a room of delightful surprise, adopting the miscreant logic of being both outdoors and a cabinet for treasures and memories.
