Campbell Newman, The Premier of Queenslandd acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands where Brisbane Festival takes place, pays respect to their elders—past, present and emerging— and acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play in the Brisbane community.
