Friday the 13, 2013

To celebrate, Friday the 13 of 2013, myself and Dean, decided to undertake a Ghost Tour of Toowong Cemetery impressive burial ground on the edge of town.

In the loving memory of all those who have passed away - may they rest in eternal peace.

Ghost Tours Brisbane was established in 1998 by local horror historian Jack Sims, and combines creepy adventures through historic (and possibly haunted) sites, while throwing in wonderfully creepy storytelling by excellent 'ghost hosts' who really get into character.

The Brisbane General Cemetery also known as Toowong or One Tree Hill Cemetery is a heritage-listed cemetery located at Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was established in 1866 and formally opened in 1875.

On the edge of Brisbane, the largest city in Australia, spread over hills and steep slopes, are ten of thousands of gravestones, tombs and crypts, Toowong Cemetery is a true necropolis - literally a city of the dead.

It is by far the largest cemetery in the state of Queensland being the burial place of 1200 000 people - some famous, other infamous.

Brisbane is the second most haunted city in the world, according to National Geographic.

Till we meet again by the gates of one of the most haunted burial grounds in Australia.

NOTE: I undertook the Ghost Tour not expecting to see any ghosts but for the Historical, theatrical and storytelling side of the event.
